We’re back with the Lunar Recap for August! This month, we shipped a ton of improvements for our Hypixel Skyblock mod, implemented three brand new mods, and introduced many improvements to our pre-existing mods and features. So without further ado, let's jump right into August on Lunar Client!

Launcher

In August, we added various quality-of-life improvements to our launcher, allowing you to launch Lunar Client with even greater ease.

Global Search Palette

We’ve made it easier than ever to navigate to any page, setting, or action within the launcher. With our new Global Search Palette, pressing CTRL + K or CMD + K will open a fancy search menu. From here, you can jump to just about any setting you could ever need to change; you’re now able to quickly search for mods, texture packs, or anything else inside our Explore Page, and much more. You can also access this pop-up by clicking the new Search button in the navigation bar at the top right.

Dependency Prompt upon Mod Installation

With this addition, you’ll now be prompted to install dependency mods whenever they’re required. This is great because it prevents players from launching the game after installing a shiny new mod, only to be met with a crash due to a missing dependency mod. With this addition, we hope to cut down on the number of crashes players were previously experiencing.

Screenshots within Mission Control

Finally, we’ve added a new Screenshots Tab to the Mission Control Window. Similar to the Screenshots Page, which can be found in the Launcher, this tab will only show you the screenshots that have been taken on the profile that you are currently playing on. This allows for much easier access to your screenshots so that you can quickly edit and share them with others.

Skyblock Updates

Next, let’s take a look at how we’ve improved Lunar Client’s Skyblock features this month.

Torrhus Canyon Support

With the recent release of Hypixel SkyBlock’s newest islands, the Torrhus Canyon and Critter Safari, our team has been hard at work implementing quality-of-life updates that will make your foraging grind and critter catching a lot more enjoyable.

Foraging Beacon Solver

The first of these is a solver for the Foraging Beacons, which can be found on both the Moonglade Marsh and the Torrhus Canyon. This feature shows you how many clicks each part of the Beacon Puzzle takes before it lines up with the matching sequence. So, for instance, the number above the Color item means that I’ll need to click it that many times before it lines up. This is super useful since many players miss out on the (practically) free bonuses received for solving the beacon—in fact, with our new solver, the puzzle now takes less than ten seconds, so why not complete it?

Caught Critters List HUD

The new Critter Safari is arguably the most intriguing area from the new update, where you can live your childhood dreams and actually catch ’em all. Of course, you’ll need a way to keep track of which critters you’ve caught in your safari run, so our Caught Critters List HUD automates this for you, keeping track so you can be as efficient as possible.

Highlight Hideons in Safari

The most annoying critters might be the Hideon family since they can blend in with just about any block on the island. Luckily, we’ve got you covered with a new highlight feature, letting you track them down with just a quick glance. With this feature, you can customize the color so that it’s one you’ll be able to quickly recognize no matter what island you’re on.

Safari Rainbow Bell Waypoints

Next up, if you haven’t completed the bell easter egg in the Critter Safari yet, we’ve added a new waypoints option for them, so that you can quickly max out the Miracle Chance attribute to gain an extra 1% chance at finding Dyes throughout all of SkyBlock.

Sparkling Critter Alerts & Waypoints

If you’ve already maxed out your regular Critterdex, then you’ve probably been eyeing the Sparkling Dex as your obvious next step. The only thing stopping you is that 1/4,096 spawn rate… Don’t fret, though, since if one does spawn near you, our Sparkling Critter Alerts will make sure that you know they’re there. This feature can even display a waypoint right where the critter spawns, so when you do eventually get lucky enough to encounter one, you won’t have to worry about missing it completely.

Mute Beeheemoth Sounds

Lastly, you may have noticed the obnoxious sound the Beehomoth Critter will make when flying around. Instead of muting your master game volume, though, we added a toggle in the SkyBlock Mod to just fully mute the Critter itself.

Etherwarp Overlay Accuracy Improvements

Our final SkyBlock Update for the month actually isn’t something you’ll notice right away, but instead it's some behind-the-scenes work to improve the accuracy of our Etherwarp Overlay. So, if you’ve noticed that it sometimes felt a bit off, we encourage you to hop on and give it another go!

Mod Improvements and Additions

During August, we spent quite a lot of time both improving some of our existing mods and also introducing some new ones!

New Mods

Next up, we have 3 brand new mods that were all released on the client this month.

Action Bar Mod

The first of these new mods is the Action Bar Mod, which allows you to fully reposition and scale the Action Bar. In case you didn’t know, the Action Bar is that little bit of text that appears right above your hotbar, which some servers use to display quick messages or stats.

The Action Bar mod allows you to move it anywhere on your screen and resize it to your liking. You can also toggle whether you’d like it to always show or always not show the Text Shadow, or keep it in the Minecraft Default state, which is server-dependent.
This mod has been requested by several members in our Discord Server, so huge thanks to these players for dropping a suggestion in our Discord. If you’d like to see a certain mod or feature make its way to Lunar Client, or leave us a suggestion through our suggestions channel on Discord.

Height Limit Mod

Also new to the client is the Height Limit Mod, which adds an overlay to blocks located at the world's height limit. We’ve also moved our Bedwars Height Limit feature into this mod for easy accessibility. On top of this, we added a ton of customization options, such as being able to display the overlay as a darkened version of the block, a barrier, or both, as well as a gradient slider that will darken blocks as they get near the height limit. Oh, and there’s also a HUD Element in this mod, which shows you the Y-Coordinate of the height limit, as well as how far you are from reaching it.

Light Overlay Mod

Our final new mod for the month is the Light Overlay Mod, which gives you a ton of options for displaying the light level on blocks. This is super useful for Survival players looking to prevent mobs from spawning around their base. Within the mod, you’ll be able to customize many different settings, including rendering options and how light is displayed on the blocks. You can also set a toggle keybind to quickly enable or disable this feature, meaning that it’s ready when you need it to be and hidden away when you don’t want it.

Mod Improvements

Potion Effects and Armor Status Vanilla HUD

We implemented a new HUD style for both our Potion Effects and Armor Status mods, giving them a much more vanilla feel. This changes the container and styling of these HUD mods, making them seem more-Minecrafty. To swap to this new vanilla style within the Potion Effects Mod, we’ve added a Mode Selector into its settings, where you’ll simply click through until you hit the Vanilla Style. The Armor Status Mod is a little different, though, where it instead has a toggle option under the HUD Options Category for the Vanilla Mode.

Overlay Mod GUI Color + More Headless Mobs

Our Overlay Mod received two pretty big updates this month. The first being the ability to fully customize the color of in-game containers, including your hotbar and inventory. This is an awesome feature as it lets you personalize some of the most used parts of the game without needing to learn how to modify texture packs or make your own mods. Just scroll down to the Texture Options category, where you’ll see a toggle for Custom GUI Colors. From here, you can customize the general container color for your inventory, chests, and other menus you may interact with, your hotbar color, which shows up right at the bottom of your screen, and the color of text inside those containers.

And then directly under this option is where you’ll find our second update to the Overlay Mod for this month, that being new options to hide the heads of both llamas and camels, making a great addition to our previous headless horse option. If you aren’t sure what these do, they simply remove the head from mobs you’re riding while in first person to give you a better view, while still keeping them visible when you aren’t riding them, or when you’re in third person.

Crosshair Elytra Indicator

We implemented a new type of Crosshair feature to the Crosshair Mod; this is an Elytra Status feature. When toggling this feature on and equipping an elytra, you’ll now see your custom elytra crosshair appear alongside your regular one, and it’ll move depending on your flying angle. You can also enable an option to display an icon whenever you have an active firework boost, letting you efficiently time your rockets to get the most distance possible.

TierTagger PvPHQ Support

Next, we added the ability to use PvPHQ Tiers as a source for the TierTagger Mod. As it pulls directly from the PvPHQ Database, you’ll be able to have the most up-to-date tier information to track other players, and it is just one of the several other sources that we support within our mod.

Minimap Save Rendered Map Sections as Images

The Minimap Mod now allows you to save rendered sections of your maps as images so you can view them outside of your world at anytime. This is great for preserving a view of your favorite worlds, or sending a view of a new seed to your friends.

Keybind for Toggling Mods

And to wrap up all of our mod updates for this month, you’re now able to set a keybind to toggle any mod you’d like. This is great for some of our mods that don’t directly have keybind options for toggling their functionality, but you still want to be able to turn them on or off quickly. This feature can be accessed using the set keybind button at the top right of the settings page for any Lunar Client mod.

Apollo API Inventory and Chat Buttons

We’ve also implemented the ability for server owners to add custom buttons inside the inventory and within the chat box via our Apollo Server API! This feature can be used for switching between chat channels or displaying a full server menu right from the inventory without needing to use dated chest GUIs. Of course though, the possibilities with these are truly endless, so if you’re a server owner or developer interested in learning how you can integrate Lunar Client into your server, just head over to our developer documentation site to get started.

Cosmetic Clusters

To close out our Recap for this month, we released our new Cyber Collection on the store, featuring 39 different cosmetics. From neon racer-like hoodies, to cyberpunk inspired cats, there’s nothing that says edgerunner quite like this collection.
